Kody Swanson Drives at Perris Auto Speedway

November 11th, 2007, Perris, CA - Kody Swanson was in the Sic'em Racing Sierra Service Center, Ron Bach Construction Mopar Powered Maxim 410 Sprint car this weekend for his first time in a Non Winged Dirt 410 Sprint Car.  Kody has driven many forms of sprint cars this year, From Winged 410s on the dirt, Midgets on pavement and dirt, 360 sprint cars on Pavement with USAC western States and the old style Silver Crown cars.  Kody is a hot shoe, and really wanted the opportunity to run the car this weekend.  With Jimmy Crawford running his own car this weekend at Perris, it was the perfect opportunity for Kody to run for Sic'em Racing.
Kody did a great job learning how the car handled and after two practice sessions went out for qualifying.  We were in the 3rd group, and Kody would qualify 28th out of 38 cars.  This put Kody on the front row of his heat race where he would get a great start and lead the first 3 laps dropping back to 3rd place for the last 7 laps then on the last lap, Kody entered turn 3 a little high with a slower car on the bottom, and 2 cars go by dropping him from 3rd to 5th missing the transfer spot.  \
Kody would run the semi main starting in the 12th spot and would gain one position finishing the night out in 11th.  Although Kody did not make the main event.  He did show that he has a lot of talent, running the car hard both on the high line, and the low line.  This kid is going places so keep an eye out you just might see him in Nascar one day.  Thanks for driving for us Kody!!
