2008 Results

July 4, 2008 - Alan Ballard has best finish to date with Sic'em Racing Team bringing home a 3rd place finish.  Alan drove the Ron Bach owned Ray Stanberry prepared Mopar Maxim to a third place finish on the 4th of July.  The night started off with a qualifying lap of 17.495 which was the 8th fastest lap of the night and put the Sic'em Racing Mopar Maxim on the inside of the 4th row of the 4th heat.
Alan would race an aggressive race and when it was all said and done, Alan would bring home a 2nd place finish transferring him straight into the A-Main Event for the 4th of July Sprint car show starting on the outside of the front row.
When the green flag dropped, Alan quickly took the high line, and would lead the first 10 laps.  On lap 10 Rip Williams would be on a mission to get a win on his first race back after breaking his foot.  Mike Spencer and Showtime Danny Sheridan would get by as Alan got back by the Ripper who would retire with mechanical problems.  After 30 laps passed, it was Danny Sheridan, Mike Spencer, and Alan Ballard in third.  This was a big week for Ray and Alan as they continue to finish farther and farther ahead of the week before.  Next race will be on July 19th at Perris Auto Speedway.  So come on out and watch Alan head to the front!!!

June 24 2008 - Alan Ballard has been piloting the 410 Mopar Powered Maxim Sprint Car for the 2008 season.  This last weekend at Perris Auto Speedway, Alan was well on his way to a podium finish if not the win.  The night started out with the #75 machine running a lap of 18.245 placing him 7th quick in qualifying.  This placed Alan in the first heat starting in the inside of the third row.  With a fully inverted field and the squirrels in the front, Alan would quickly get shuffled back as they did not go.  This did not stop Alan as he went from last to 2nd just picking off car after car each lap.  "Ray and I talked about what the car has been doing in the past, and we decided to try a little different set up, one that I really liked.  The car was a rocket ship today and I just wish we had the finish to show how good the car was.  We were so strong in the heat race that we were able to move fast to the front after avoiding the out of control cars."
The car being a rocket ship was apparent, as Alan started second row inside, and was able to battle for the lead.  Alan was running 2nd trying to go for the lead when he misjudged the inside of turn 3 from all the dust in the air from the dried out track. Alan hoped the berm and spun the car out only to have two cars that were unable to see him crash into the front of his car and putting him out if the remainder of the race.
Ray Stansberry said this about the race. "We found a set up that Alan loved this and it was great to see him running so well.  He has been consistent all year long, and we really want to get that win.  Alan comes to the shop and helps prepare the car every week, and it is great to see his love for the sport.  Ron Bach and I are proud to be able to give him the opportunity to drive this car."
This weekend the 410 Sprints are off till July 4th where they will run at Perris Auto Speedway.  In the mean time Tom Stansberry will suit up this weekend, dust off the helmet and run the 360 Sprint car at Bakersfield Speedway.  This will Be Toms first race of the year, and he is excited to drive this weekend at a track that he has many wins at in both Sprint Cars and Dwarf Cars.

Bobby Michnowicz Makes A Main Event at Chili Bowl Midget Nationals

January 13th, 2007 - Sic'em Racing and Ron Bach Racing teamed up once again at the 2008 Chili Bowl Midget Nationals with Bobby Michnowicz taking on the driving duties.  It was the start of a great year for Ron, Ray, Joe and Bobby as they loaded up the #49jr and headed out to the Tulsa Expo Raceway along with 287 other cars to race for a spot in Saturday Nights 50 lap A-main event.  With Qualifying nights spread out over 3 days, our night started on January 10th as we lined up on the Pole for Heat Race # 4 and Bobby would fall to 3rd place, but on the last lap coming out of Turn 4 would pass 2 cars taking the Heat Race win.  This win would place Bobby in the Qualifying race #2 starting in the 4th position.  Bobby would get a great start and race his way into the 2nd place, which is where he would finish.  With passing points from his 4th place start in the Qualifying race, Bobby would make the A Main event starting in the 5th spot on Thursday night.  Starting in the inside of the third row, Bobby would race hard and Battle Tony Stewart most of the race, then in the end while racing each other, Bobby would have Cole Whitt and Garrett Hanson get by him and Tony Stewart, and Finish in 7th place.  This would Place Bobby in the front of the B Main event for Saturday night.
Starting in Row Three of the B main even, Bobby would Drive hard and Passing Davey Ray for the 2nd place position after battling for 2 laps and would chase Tony Stewart for the remainder of the race, following his every move.  In the end Bobby would keep pace with Stewart and finish in second place transferring him into the A-main event.
For the Main event the track was super tacky to start off the race and Bobby really had to drive the car in hard until the track dried out a little, but in the end he would not be able to find out if the track would dry out, as he would be gathered up in a crash where Terry McCarl would get sideways avoiding Levi Jones.  Michnowicz would end up with no where to go along with three others and the suspension broke causing the team to retire for the night.  Although we did not finish the A-main event, we are very proud of our driver and proud of the success that we had as we made the A main for Saturday night.
